Minimum Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- AZ Firefighter I & II or NFPA 1001 equivalent or IFSAC *
- AZ EMT BLS or ALS certification *
- Current BLS CPR certification
- Completion of NIMS 100 and 700
- HAZMAT First Responder Operations qualified *
- Valid Arizona Driver's License
- Current CPAT
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Must be able to pass a background check, psychological evaluation, physical examination, and other pre-employment screening.
*Required before full-time job offer. Must be currently enrolled in a program and able to provide a copy of your registration or a letter from your instructor
Benefits:
- Hiring Range: $16.48 base hourly rate ($49,275 annually)
- Additional $2.25 / hour for Paramedic certification

To apply, go to National Testing Network (NTN), complete the testing process, and select Verde Valley Fire District’s testing process. Upload copies of required certifications (or proof of enrollment) in NTN.
Selected candidates will be contacted by Thursday, January 22, 2026, to submit a completed application packet. Candidates with verified credentials will be scheduled for oral board interviews the week of February 2, 2026.
