Firefighter

• 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• AZ Firefighter I & II or NFPA 1001 equivalent or IFSAC *
• AZ EMT BLS or ALS certification *
• Current BLS CPR certification
• Completion of NIMS 100 and 700
• HAZMAT First Responder Operations qualified *
• Valid Arizona Driver's License
• Current CPAT
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
• Must be able to pass a background check, psychological evaluation, physical examination, and other pre-employment screening.
  
  *Required before full-time job offer. Must be currently enrolled in a program and able to provide a copy of your registration or a letter from your instructor

• Hiring Range: $16.48 base hourly rate ($49,275 annually)
• Additional $2.25 / hour for Paramedic certification
• Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) contributions
• 100% of employee premium and 80% of family premium for Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
• $50,000 life insurance policy for employee
• $2,500 employee only or $5,000 family contributions to Health Savings Account (HSA)
• 48/96 work schedule
• Paid annual sick and vacation leave

Selected candidates will be contacted by Thursday, January 22, 2026, to submit a completed application packet. Candidates with verified credentials will be scheduled for oral board interviews the week of February 2, 2026.
